Dog Was Dumped On Tiny Island And Left To Die Of Starvation, Begs To Be Rescued
Photographer Wesley White was on a work-related trip to Thatch Caye in Belize, when he found a dying puppy, all skin and bones on a deserted island. The puppy was probably dumped there and was elated to finally see a human. He started wagging his tail in hopes of being saved.
Wesley called the starving pup Winston and took him to the mainland in his kayak. Winston knew that he was being rescued by the kind stranger, so he kept hugging him throughout the boat-ride. Wesley promised to get Winston settled before he left.
Wesley had just 2 days left on his trip, so he tweaked his schedule to spend a chunk of his time to help Winston. With the help of a local shelter, he took him to the vet’s and got him treated for mites-infestation and dehydration. After much effort, he also ensured that Winston had a foster family to look after him!
Later, Wesley bid Winston goodbye and flew back to his home in Montana. But all the while, his heart ached for Winston. Wesley didn’t realize that he had grown so attached to the sweet puppy!
Wesley couldn’t take it anymore. He eventually decided to adopt Winston himself! When the pair united at the airport, Winston leaped happily and ran to his savior with hugs and kisses! To Wesley’s relief, Winston got along fine with his 2 other dogs. They all make for one big, happy family now!
