Neglected Shih Tzu Found With Cockroach Nests Throughout Her Fur

Sury the Shih Tzu was found covered in fleas and cockroach nests as she was neglected for a very long time. But her transformation is one of the most incredible you’ll ever see, and you won’t even recognize her by the end.
The dog was abandoned outside of Jasper County Animal Rescue in a small carrier. She was covered in fleas, and cockroaches were using her fur as their nests.
The staff believe the dog to be around 10 years old, and who knows how long of that lifespan she’d been neglected.
Sury also had eye and ear infections, and there was moldy food in her carrier.
She was named Sury by the staff as it was short for “survivor.” And that she was!
It’d take five hours of grooming, and then they could work on getting her healthy again.
But she’d already come such a long way. Sury looked nothing like when they found her!
She certainly went through some dark and rough times in her life, but she has nothing but love to give for the rest of her life!
What a wonderful turnaround for this little girl. And it’s all thanks to the hardwork and dedication of her rescuers and caregivers!
