The Golden-browed Chlorophonia (Chlorophonia callophrys) is a small songbird from the Fringillidae family.

These birds tend to live in southern Central America, ranging from Costa Rica to Panama.
The males are striking and brighter in colour than the somewhat less distinctive females.
It has a soft whistling call.
In Costa Rica, they call the bird a Rualdo, and legend has it that this bird used to have a beautiful singing voice, but gave it up as an offering to the volcano Poás to stop a young woman from being sacrificed, and to prevent the volcano from eruption.
This bird mainly feeds on fruits from trees, including figs and mistletoe berries.
We can’t keep our eyes off these stunning creatures!
