Vietnam Vet Makes A Promise To Rescue 50,000 Dogs In Honor Of The K9 He Left Behind

One Vietnam professional called Mike Monahan had his life saved by a canine named Chico some 50 years ago. Chico was originally from South Dakota but his owners sent him to Vietnam after they realized exactly how overprotective he was and also after he completed a Precursor Canine Training in Georgia.

For over a year now, Mike is composing a publication about Chico’s life as seen from the pet dog’s viewpoint titled Chico’s Promise.

Speaking to WCPO, Mike shared a short essence of his book which will be released soon. “Then one day Mike entered my kennel, took a knee, put his arms around me and claimed, ‘I enjoy you, I enjoy you kid. I’m sorry I can not do anything regarding this, I love you boy deal with on your own. Bye-bye Chico. Many thanks for saving my life, I promise to never forget regarding what a hero you remain in my eyes.’ After that I listened to a voice say, ‘Monahan, time to go. Jeep’s waiting,’ and easily it mored than, once again I was all alone. Deserted.”

The promise Mike made to Chico and also to himself is to assist in saving 50,000 canines by covering the costs for their fostering.
