One day, the Massey Wildbase animal hospital in New Zealand had a new patient, a tiny, fluffy little morepork owl who has come down with a mild skin infection, writes kingdomstv.

Now, this was pretty easy to treat, all he needed was to be given a bath, but it wasn’t that simple.

Owls, kind of like cats, dislike water, they don’t like being wet at all and therefore don’t like baths. So when it came up to bathtime for this little owl, it’s safe to say he wasn’t thrilled.

“It was a big deal for both of us,” Nijman, a supervisor at the animal hospital told The Dodo.

Photos that were taken during this are absolutely hilarious and shows how not pleased the owl is.

Now this may just be me, but I wasn’t aware an owls stocky figure came mainly from the puffiness and fluffiness of its feathers, I mean, I thought its body filled out a little more than the reality.

But no, as it turns out, most of its figure is simple its puffy feathers, so when this owl got wet, and the fluffiness went, it looks very different!

“He’s a smaller kid but in lovely condition, [though] once all the fluff is wet, they look frightfully pathetic!”

Now we can’t forget the reason for the wash which was to help cure the infection, and you’d think the owl would be happy, but no “He was NOT pleased,” Nijman wrote.

He was then pat down and blown dried.

“He did dry up rather nicely!”

After he returned to his old fluffy self, he was moved over to the clinics aviary where he was joined by more of his fellow moreporks.

“He has recovered well from his ‘ordeal”

They will monitor him to make sure that one bath was all he needed, and if that’s the case, they will release him back to the wild.
