Regé-Jean Page, /ˈrɛɡeɪ ˈʒɒ̃ ˈpeɪdʒ/[2] (born 24 January 1988)[1] is an English actor. His breakout role came in the first season of the Netflix period drama Bridgerton (2020),[3] for which he won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. In 2021, Time magazine included him in their 100 Next List.[4] Page has also appeared in the series 10 of Waterloo Road (2015), the miniseries Roots (2016),[5] and the ABC legal drama For the People (2018–2019).

Page was born in London[3][6][7] to a Zimbabwean mother who was a nurse and an English father who was a preacher.[8] He is the third of four children and was in a band with his brother.[9][10] He spent his childhood in Harare, Zimbabwe, before returning to London for secondary school.[11]

After returning to the UK, Page took up acting as a hobby during Saturday school. He studied sound engineering at The National Youth Theatre. After two years of auditioning, Page was accepted at Drama Centre London.
