Todd Friedman, who runs the animal rescue charity Arthur’s Acres, is obviously at home with his animal friends.

The charity, which sits on 77 acres of former farmland in Parksville, New York, is filled with pigs, cats, dogs, chickens, and more!

Their most recent new arrivals, a pair of pigs named Moby and Billie, have brought the place even more love and cheer:

Rescued from a flooded basement, the pair have gone from a dark, uncomfortable living space with only a pallet and single blanket for warmth to a field where they can graze, socialize, and live the rest of their days!

The pair are Kunekune pigs, which comes from the Māori-language word meaning “fat and round.” If that doesn’t describe them perfectly, I don’t know what does!

Now, Moby loves to be fed and given attention — just say his name and he’ll come running right to you!

Arthur’s Acres is filled with 16 other pigs that have all been rescued or adopted from other places. That transition can be tough, but for Moby and Billie, it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Moby came from a horrible situation but the minute he came to [Arthur’s Acres] he knew he was home, the home he was meant be [in] forever,” Friedman wrote on Instagram.

Friedman believes that the love and community that the team has built at Arthur’s Acres is a reflection of every animal’s desire for compassion and kindness, and their incredible work is a testament to that belief.
