Animal lovers who volunteer their time to help those in need, rushed to the scene when they received a call about a dog close to death. The caller said that she had no idea how he was still alive. The dog was missing most of his face. Maggots had crawled deep into the infected tissue, making the wounds larger.

The rescuers from Animal Aid picked him up and carried him to their vehicle. They raced off to the medical center to get him immediate treatment. First, the dog was sedated. Then they performed a thorough exam without causing him further pain.

The veterinarian pulled the maggots out and cut away as much necrotic tissue as he could. He then irrigated the wounds and administered IV antibiotics and pain medication. The poor pup was in better shape but it would be a long road if he’d recover. His biggest obstacle now was to beat any infection that should arise.

Miraculously, the little dog warrior beat all the odds. Meet Teddy Bear today! It took three months but this doggy survivor is in excellent health. He has permanent scars but he’s still so beautiful. Don’t you agree?
