Vacationing Couple ‘Adopted’ By Limping Stray Puppy Tell Him He Can’t Come In

While traveling overseas, Bruce and Jen went out to dinner. What they thought would be a typical night, turned into anything but that. A stray puppy that was merely skin and bones was limping outside the restaurant. The couple was understandably concerned. They were in Macedonia, far far away from home. All they could think about was how could they help this poor injured puppy when they weren’t even in their home country. They had to come up with a plan.

The couple encouraged the puppy, they later named Chachi, to follow them home. They were walking distance from the restaurant and he limped the whole way behind them. They thought about picking him up but didn’t want to scare him away. They knew the most important thing to do was to get him out of the streets.

Chachi followed the couple home while favoring his one leg. His ribs showed and it broke the couple’s hearts. Bruce bent down, once on the porch of their Air BNB, and spoke to the puppy. He said that he was safe now. Chachi was scared and hesitant so the couple opted to leave him outside in the fenced-in backyard. Hopefully, he would be okay.

The next morning, Jen woke up and immediately ran outside. Bruce asked, “Where are you going?” And Jen replied, “To get my puppy.” Bruce knew at that moment, Chachi didn’t just choose them. Jen chose him as well! Now they had to get him inside. Chachi was calmer and seemed more comfortable around them. This was a good sign.

They put a blanket on a couch and gave him some water. Chachi drank the water but Bruce knew he needed immediate medical attention. He reached out to a veterinarian in the area. The vet offered to come straight over. When the vet showed up, he totally blew the couple away. He gave Chachi a thorough exam, vaccinated him, microchipped him, AND gave him a doggy passport. This meant Chachi could go home with Bruce and Jen. The couple was elated.

Then there was a quick turn of events. The veterinarian came back! He had bad news to share with Bruce and Jen.
