Extremely Rare Blonde Baby Seal Photographed Looking Very Happy
A stunning and adorable rare blonde seal has made an appearance on the South Georgia Islands, and luckily a photographer was around to capture it.
These adorable images show the happy expressions of an extremely rare blonde seal cub.
Its unique fur color meant it was the odd one out among its fellow seals, but this didn’t stop them from treating it as one of the gang.
It still received lot’s of love from its family in the form of nose rubs, playing and enjoying the sunshine by rolling around in the grass.
Blonde seals make up less than 1% of the overall seal population and are therefore very rare!
These adorable photos were taken by a renowned wildlife photographer called Roie Galitz.
As with most albino/white animals, they are at greater rise of being attacked from predators.
This is because they lack their natural ‘camouflage’ coloring and will stand out from the cloud.
Roie said: “I spent almost two hours next to this sweet fur seal cub.
“Blonde seals are extremely rare – and this was the only blonde cub in a beach full of ordinary fur seals.
“It posed for my camera in such an adorable way that it was difficult to leave him and carry on for other photography opportunities.
“You could notice that everyone were treating absolutely normally with him. I guess they don’t judge according to colour.”
“It looked like a beacon of light, standing out in the crowd.
“You couldn’t help but fall in love with this sweet little cub.”
