The lengths we go to for our dogs…

We don’t know if this man named Pat would walk 1,000 miles—or 500 miles and then 500 more for that matter—to reunite with his dog, but we’re pretty sure he would.

After all, the guy did drive 1,200 miles (ever heard of cars, Vanessa Carlton?) from Texas to Tennessee to reunite with his dog Blue, who’d been missing for more than six months.

According to the Washington County Animal Shelter on Facebook, Pat looked everywhere for Blue when he went missing. He had to give up his search when he moved to Texas. Luckily, a friend recently showed him a video of Blue, who the shelter had named Bones, playing with a ball at the shelter.

A long drive later, Pat and Blue finally got to see each other last week. The reunion video shows Blue ambushing his dad with kisses, to which Pat crooned, “That’s my boy, that’s my boy…. I missed you so much.”

“We don’t [have] many happy endings like this one,” the shelter wrote. “There were some tears, tons of doggie kisses and lots of smiles. What a great story! We are so happy that the dog we named Bones is back with his dad and ready to catch up on some lovins.”

Anyhow, use this happy reunion as an excuse to smile this Monday. We could all use it.
