There is something special about the day that you go to the shelter to get your new best friend. That is something that happened to Lee Asher, as he was going to the shelter to meet a dog that was surrendered for being aggressive, writes blog.theanimalrescue.

There was a note that went along with that dog, explaining the situation.

The note said: “We’ve decided to surrender Brutus. His behavior is uncontrollable, and we do not feel safe in the house with him. We don’t take this decision lightly, but last night was awful, and we cannot do this any longer.”

As they sometimes say, however, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Brutus did not show any sign of aggression.

He gave plenty of kisses and loved having his belly rubbed so Asher decided he would take Brutus in to interact with other dogs. That would determine whether he could take Brutus home or not.

There are a lot of questions that surround the former family that used to care for Brutus.

Although they said he was aggressive and couldn’t handle his uncontrollable behavior, he didn’t display any of those traits for Asher.

Asher has quite a handful of furry friends and Brutus did amazing with all of them!

It seems as if he just needed somebody to love him, and I think he found just the right person.
