Can you imagine training for ages for an exhausting, 13-mile marathon just to be beaten by a pup with no training, writes kingdomstv.

Well, that’s exactly what happened in the Elkmont Trackless Train Half Marathon in Canada, after a bloodhound hound named Ludivine had decided to join in on the fun after only being let out to go for a wee.

The lovable pup made his escape by crawling under the garden fence and running straight to the start-line and well, the rest is history.

Ludivine, even went off track a few times, like when he went off to play with a herd of cows (we are not kidding you here). Which makes it even more incredible that he managed to secure such a great time of just over an hour and a half.

The adorable bloodhound eventually finished seventh. He even stopped at the two-mile point to sniff a dead rabbit.

“She’s laid back and friendly, so I can’t believe she ran the whole half marathon because she’s actually really lazy,”

Elkmont’s Hound Dog Half‘s official Facebook page posted some of the pictures from Ludivines appearance in the half-marathon and well, it may just be the greatest photo album of all time.

Ludivine was given a medal for her astonishing efforts, and her owner April Hamlin, described the moment following her crazy finish:

“All I did was open the door, and she ran the race on her own accord,” she told Runner’s World. “My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she had possibly gotten in the way of the other runners.”

Jim Clemens, a runner who finished fourth in the same half marathon, also spoke of how the dog would race past him:

“Every time I thought she had dropped off to go back home, I would hear her coming back up to me and she would race past me up to the two leaders.

“She would run off to romp through the streams and into yards to sniff around for a while.”

This might just be my favourite story of all-time, ever.
