Woman Finds Scared Dog With 13lb Anchor Around Its Neck Near River

Some people are just too horrible to put into words. There is no excuse for animal cruelty. But sometimes others can restore your faith in humanity. When one woman found an incredibly scared dog with a makeshift anchor around its neck, she knew exactly what happened.

Audra Petraškienė was driving through her home country of Lithuania when she came across the poor pup. She found the scared dog near a river, with a box tied around its neck, evidently a makeshift anchor. “The dog was scared and shaking as well,” said Audra’s daughter Andra.

The scared dog was still frightened and betrayed, but somehow alive. Nobody knows how it managed to swim out of the river with the heavy anchor around its neck. But now help was at hand. The dog feared that Audra was going to hurt it like the last human, but she soon reassured it that everything was going to be okay.

Audra took the dog to the vets after a quick stop at their house for emergency care. Its survival was nothing short of a miracle, and Audra and Andra were ready to do everything they could to make sure it was okay.

It turned out that Audra’s neighbor was responsible for the drowning. It was a part of a revenge plot, and her neighbor had stolen someone else’s dog and tried to drown it in order to get back at them. That is sick, and we hope that they get their comeuppance. There is no reason to be cruel to animals, let alone try to kill them to settle a score.
