There is no understanding or justification for whoever did this to this dog. Dumping an animal in a box full of car parts, closing it and leaving it under sun is the kind of cruelty only an extremely disturbed person is capable of.
I can only imagine what the dog must have felt: the heat, the fear, the hunger, the thirst, the suffering… Fortunately there is still a lot of good people out there willing to step in for an animal in need.
Imgur user Riahriahbobiah, who found the dog in the box said: “I found Lily in a box of old car parts. At first I thought she was dead… until she saw me and her tail started thumping against the box. Here, she is being vetted and fed what is likely the best meal of her life.”
Thanks to the help of Twin Cities Pet Rescue and Lightshine Canine that assisted in the rescue of Lily and got her to the vet, this dog got a second chance. When first found she had a very bad case of mange, she was covered in scabs and lesions and had lost a lot of fur.
She spent her first night in a bed and it was like if that sped up her recovery. Soon enough she had gained weight, the mange was confirmed not contagious, she was on a better mood and she was ready to find a foster home.
Her foster family says she is sweet and not afraid of humans, despite of the bad experience she had in the past. She is recovering fast as a happy dog with the loving life she deserves.
