Zack Nelson makes dreams come true. He created a hybrid wheel chair for his wife so she can travel across the country without any obstacles.
Around 2.7 Americans have to use a wheelchair to move around. May this be a lesson to everyone who takes their well functioning limbs for granted. Some people would do the impossible to get their legs back. Going for a walk in nature is impossible because of the rocky scenery.
Cambry spent most of her life in a wheelchair. She was unable to take part in many activities, so Zack decided to change that. Gorgeous Cambry dreamed of traveling the world, but her wheelchair put her dreams on hold.
Zack combined two electric bikes and added a seat in the center. His invention worked really well, and Cambry was finally free to do all the things she wanted. There was no obstacle on her road, and her shoulders were no longer hurting.
Cambry and Zack are now helping others. Their “Not-a-Wheelchair” is the perfect off-road vehicle for adventurous souls like Cambry. Disabled people don’t have the same opportunities as other people.
“The toughest challenge when developing ‘Not-A-Wheelchair’ is the price,” Cambry explained. “We wanted to create something that is affordable for everyone. Finding quality components, and a simple enough design at the cheapest price possible took quite a bit of time. But I think we have something now that everyone will be able to enjoy, at a fraction of the cost of other ‘off-road wheelchairs’ currently on the market.”
“Not-a-Wheelchair” is an outdoor machine, and Cambry uses her wheelchair to move inside their home. “Its silent, which means that we can all still talk and chat while she rides next to the group,” Zack said of the off-road wheelchair.
The new design provides great benefits. Zack and Cambry are happy with the final outcome and the opportunity to help disabled people.
“We have taken The Rig to Hawaii twice for testing. The bike has to be shipped with a freight company before we go, but we ship The Rig about a week before we fly out ourselves, and it’s waiting there for us when we arrive.
All this travel was before COVID was a thing. Luckily, we also live near mountains and snow with long wide flat trails to try the bike out on.”
